Maximize the Potential of your Truck with a Trailer Hitch from Trick Trucks

While your truck bed is great for hauling everything from rocks to antique furniture, and everything in between, there are just some things that are too big for your truck. For these items, you may need to utilize a trailer. This means you will need a trailer hitch.

Trailer hitches are given a “class” rating, defining their towing capacity and receiver opening size. These classes range from class I to class V.

  1. Class 1 Trailer Hitch: A class 1 trailer hitch is capable of handling a gross trailer weight (GTW) of up to 2,000 lbs. and a maximum tongue weight of 200 lbs.
  2. Class 2 Trailer Hitch: : A class 2 trailer hitch is capable of handling a gross trailer weight (GTW) of up to 3,500 lbs. and a maximum tongue weight of 300 lbs.
  3. Class 3 Trailer Hitch: : A class 3 trailer hitch is capable of handling a gross trailer weight (GTW) of up to 5,000 lbs. and a maximum tongue weight of 500 lbs.
  4. Class 4 Trailer Hitch: : A class 4 trailer hitch is capable of handling a gross trailer weight (GTW) of up to 12,000 lbs. and a maximum tongue weight of 1,000 lbs.
  5. Class 5 Trailer Hitch: : A class 5 trailer hitch is capable of handling a gross trailer weight (GTW) of up to 18,000 lbs. and a maximum tongue weight of 1,800 lbs.
